Views with NocoDB MCP

An MCP client can create and configure the views of your NocoDB tables, with their filters, sorts, share links, form field conditions, folders and row colors.

These 33 tools are in the Views section of Tools & Permissions. A tool needs the access level in its row: Read, Read & write, or Read, write & delete.

How the assistant works with views

Create and configure views. Replace their filters. Manage sorts.

Manage record color conditions and rules.

Read, set, and remove the rule that links a start field, an end field, and a link field. With this rule, when you move one record, the records that depend on it move too.

A share link that an MCP client creates starts with Allow download off. The link allows downloads only when the call sets the download option. A view that already has a share link keeps its download setting.

Conditions on a form field and on a Record-Level Security policy are written as one flat list. If those conditions are already grouped, the tool that replaces them refuses the call and leaves them as they are, so edit them in the form view or in the policy itself. View filters and record colour conditions do accept nested groups.
