Connect Claude Code to NocoDB
To connect Claude Code to NocoDB, add the NocoDB MCP server with one command and sign in to NocoDB in your browser.
Connect with OAuth
-
Run this command in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http nocodb https://app.nocodb.com/mcp -
In Claude Code, run
/mcp, select nocodb, and select Authenticate. The NocoDB authorization screen opens in your browser. -
Sign in to NocoDB if it asks you to. Below Access, add the projects that Claude Code can reach. Below Tools & Permissions, allow the tools that it can call. Click Authorize.
/mcp then shows the server as connected. Try it: ask Claude Code to list your NocoDB workspaces and projects.
On a licensed self-hosted deployment, use https://<your-nocodb-host>/mcp. The URL must be the public HTTPS address of your instance, set in NC_SITE_URL (or NC_PUBLIC_URL).
Connect with an MCP connection
Use an MCP connection when you want to pin Claude Code to the projects of one connection, or on the Community Edition, which has no OAuth.
- Create an MCP connection and copy the command from its Claude Code tab.
- Run the command in your terminal.
- Run
claude mcp list. Make sure that the server is connected.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user NocoDB_MCP \
https://your-domain.com/mcp/<ncId> \
--header "x-api-key: <ncToken>"The server name accepts only letters, digits, _, and -, so NocoDB replaces any other character in the endpoint name: an endpoint named My Base MCP appears as My_Base_MCP.
