Thread - 2026.05.0 release

1/ NocoDB 2026.05.0 ships today.

Two headlines: forms can finally have side-by-side fields, and linked records can show any column you choose as their display value, on a per-link basis.

2/ Forms first.

Form fields have always stacked one per row. Long forms got long fast.

Drag a field card onto another field's row to share it. Up to 5 fields per row. Equal-width columns, with mobile automatically collapsing back to a single column.

3/ Linked records.

An LTAR pill has always shown the linked table's title. That's fine, until two contacts share a name, or finance needs the account's external ID for reconciliation, or a support rep wants to see a customer's tier at a glance.

Pick any column you want now. The choice carries through to filters, formulas, audit logs, the works.

4/ Also in 2026.05.0:

  • Multi-field search is back in the link picker, now with virtual scrolling for tables with thousands of records
  • Timeline View now updates in realtime
  • NocoDocs no longer freezes on search and replace in long docs
  • User cells in shared and public views no longer leak email

Post A - Multi-Column Field Layout

Long forms used to scroll forever, even when first name, last name, email, and phone obviously belonged on the same line. NocoDB 2026.05.0 lets you drag fields together into equal-width columns. Up to 5 per row. Mobile collapses back to a single column automatically.

Post B - Custom Display Value

Two contacts share a name? Finance needs the account's external ID? Support wants the customer's tier on the pill? 2026.05.0 lets every Link to Another Record field pick its own display column. The override applies in cells, the link picker, formulas, filters, audit logs, and more.
