Thread - 2026.08.1 release

1/ NocoDB 2026.08.1 ships today.

Two headliners: Realtime Presence in the grid, and Folders in the sidebar.

2/ Realtime Presence.

See your team inside the grid: each collaborator gets a colour that follows them from cell to cell, and records they have open carry a presence badge.

Reviewing data together on a call? Click "Go there" and you land exactly where they're working.

Available on all plans, including the Community Edition.

3/ Folders.

Group tables, documents, and dashboards into collapsible folders in the sidebar. The same applies to views within a table.

4/ Freeze multiple fields.

Grid views can keep up to three fields pinned while you scroll horizontally, display value included. Drag the divider to choose how many stay frozen. Works on interface Grid pages too.

5/ Nested records in List View.

Tasks with subtasks, categories with items, an org chart: records nest under their parents through a link field that points back to the same table.

6/ More for interface builders:

Copy settings from an existing view when creating a page
Per-field Size option and a Single Select stepper on record pages
Drag-and-drop field reordering across every visualization
Per-dashboard Visibility and Editing permissions

7/ Our docs got a revamp too.

Dedicated tabs for Product, Workflows, Interfaces, APIs & MCP, Self Hosting, and Changelog, plus an Ask AI assistant on every page that answers questions using the docs as its source.

8/ Self-hosters: the E2B and Exa environment variables were renamed and the old names are no longer read. Update them when you upgrade, or script execution and AI code analysis stay disabled.
