1/ NocoDB 2026.05.1 ships today.
Two headlines: Bookmarks for one-click access to the things you open most, and Smart Text, a Long Text variant that turns each cell into a full document.
2/ Bookmarks.
Your work is scattered. Bookmarks bring it together.
Pin any workspace, base, table, view, document, dashboard, workflow, or script. Reach it in one click from anywhere, no matter which workspace you're currently in. Private to you; teammates have their own.
3/ Smart Text.
Long text holds notes. Smart text holds full documents.
Toggle it on any Long text field and every cell gains the full NocoDocs editor: headings, tables, code blocks, math, callouts, attachments, embeds, / slash menu. Click a cell, the side panel slides in.
4/ Also in 2026.05.1:
- Mermaid diagrams in NocoDocs (write source, get SVG)
- Timeline View zooms from a single day to five years, nine levels total
- Field summary footer rescopes when you select cells or tick row checkboxes
- Expanded record opens as a side panel by default — grid stays visible
5/ For self-hosters:
Business plan licenses are now self-serve. Buy from your Cloud account, paste the key into Admin Panel → License, done. No sales call.
Heads up: NC_PUBLIC_URL is renamed to NC_SITE_URL and is now required.

Post C - Mermaid Diagrams
Write diagrams as text. NocoDocs draws the rest. Mermaid is now a first-class language in NocoDocs code blocks — flowcharts, sequence diagrams, ER diagrams, Gantt charts, and 10+ more. Three view modes, fullscreen, SVG download, intact through HTML/PDF/Markdown export.
Post D - Timeline at scale
Some plans run a week. Others run five years. Timeline now scales to both, with nine zoom levels from Day through 5 Years, smooth pan-as-you-scroll, and a grouped layout that gives every group its own row of bars.
Post E - Expanded record side panel
A modal covers the grid. A side panel doesn't. The expanded record now opens as a side panel by default — the grid stays visible while you edit, comment, or scan revision history on a single record. Fullscreen is one click away when you need the full surface.
