Set up the Outlook Calendar OAuth2 authentication integration for a self-hosted NocoDB instance.

This document tells you how to set up the Outlook Calendar authentication integration for NocoDB.

## Environment Variables

To enable OAuth2 authentication with Outlook Calendar, set up these environment variables:

### Step 1: Register a Microsoft Entra Application

1. Log in to the [Microsoft Entra admin center](https://entra.microsoft.com/) (or the Azure portal).
2. Go to Identity > Applications > App registrations.
3. Click "New registration".
4. Fill in the form:

* **Name**: Your application name (for example, "NocoDB")
* **Supported account types**: Select who can use the integration. To support both work/school and personal accounts, select "Accounts in any organizational directory and personal Microsoft accounts"
* **Redirect URI**: Select the "Web" platform. Type the URL where Microsoft sends users after authorization (for example, `https://your-nocodb-instance.com/`)

5. Click "Register".
6. Go to API permissions.
7. Add these Microsoft Graph **delegated** permissions: `Calendars.Read`, `User.Read`, and `offline_access`.

### Step 2: Get Client ID and Client Secret

After you register the application:

1. On the Overview page, copy the "Application (client) ID".
2. Go to Certificates & secrets.
3. Click "New client secret".
4. Copy the **Value** of the secret. It is shown only once.

### Step 3: Set Environment Variables

Configure your NocoDB instance with these environment variables:

```
INTEGRATION_AUTH_OUTLOOK_CALENDAR_CLIENT_ID=your_outlook_client_id
INTEGRATION_AUTH_OUTLOOK_CALENDAR_CLIENT_SECRET=your_outlook_client_secret
INTEGRATION_AUTH_OUTLOOK_CALENDAR_REDIRECT_URI=your_redirect_uri
INTEGRATION_AUTH_OUTLOOK_CALENDAR_TENANT_ID=your_tenant_id
```

Where:

* `your_outlook_client_id`: The Application (client) ID from your app registration
* `your_outlook_client_secret`: The client secret value from your app registration
* `your_redirect_uri`: The redirect URI that you specified when you registered the application (for example, `https://your-nocodb-instance.com/api/v1/integrations/auth/outlook-calendar/callback`)
* `your_tenant_id`: (Optional) Your Microsoft Entra tenant ID. The default is `common`, which allows both personal and work/school Microsoft accounts. To let only your organization sign in, set it to your tenant ID

## OAuth Scopes

The Outlook Calendar integration requests these Microsoft Graph scopes:

* `Calendars.Read`: Read-only access to calendars and events
* `User.Read`: Read the profile of the connected account
* `offline_access`: Refresh the access token between sync runs

Access is read-only. NocoDB never changes your calendar.

## Availability

* App Sync is available on **NocoDB Cloud** (Plus plan and above) and licensed self-hosted deployments (Business plan and above). This page covers OAuth app setup for **self-hosted** deployments. On NocoDB Cloud, these OAuth apps are preconfigured.
