Search & Navigation

NocoDocs has several tools to move through large documents and find content quickly.

Search & Replace

Use the built-in search to find text in the current document:

  1. Press Cmd/Ctrl + F to open the search bar.
  2. Type your search term. NocoDocs highlights the matching text in the document.
  3. To go from one match to the next, use the arrow buttons.
  4. To find and replace text, expand the search bar. The Replace field shows.

At the top of the editor, a breadcrumb trail shows the position of the current document in the document hierarchy.

  • To open a parent, click it in the breadcrumb.
  • Use the breadcrumb to go up the document tree quickly, without the sidebar.

Collapsible Headings

Use collapsible headings to move through long documents more easily:

  1. Put the pointer on a heading (H1, H2, H3) in the document.
  2. Click the toggle arrow to the left of the heading. All content below that heading collapses, up to the next heading of the same or higher level.
  3. To expand the content, click the arrow again.

This gives an outline view of your document, so you can focus on the sections that you need.

The left sidebar shows your document tree:

  • Expand / Collapse: Click the arrow next to a document to show or hide its children.
  • Lazy Loading: Child documents load only when you expand a parent. This keeps the sidebar fast.
  • Current Document Highlight: The sidebar highlights the open document, so you can see where you are.
