Web Bookmarks

A web bookmark changes a link into a rich visual card. The card shows the title, description, site icon, and a preview image of the page. A card is much easier to scan than a bare URL. Use bookmarks to collect research sources, make resource lists for your team, or refer to articles and tools. Your document stays free of raw links.

  2. Paste or type the URL into the input. Then press Enter.

NocoDocs gets the details of the page and replaces the input with the bookmark card. Click the card to open the link.

What the Card Shows

ElementSource
TitleThe page's title
DescriptionThe page's summary or social-preview description
Site icon & domainThe site's favicon and hostname
Preview imageThe page's social-preview image. NocoDocs caches it, so the card still renders if the original image moves.
If a page's details can't be fetched — for example, the site is unreachable or blocks preview requests — the bookmark remains a clean, clickable link card with just the URL.

Web Bookmarks vs Embeds

Both start from a URL, but they have different purposes:

BlockWhat it doesUse it to
Web bookmarkShows a compact, static preview card that links to the page.Refer to something.
EmbedRenders live, interactive content from a supported platform directly in the document.Show something.
Looking to pin workspaces, projects, tables, and views for quick navigation instead? That's the separate Bookmarks feature in the workspace dock.
