Inline Comments ☁

Use inline comments to attach feedback to a specific part of the text. Then it is clear which text the comment is about.

Create an Inline Comment

1. Select the text.
2. In the bubble menu, click Comment. An input field opens in the comment sidebar.
3. Type your comment in the input field.
4. To post the comment, press Enter or click Submit.

Visual Indicators

• Text with an inline comment has a light background color.
• Click highlighted text to go to its comment in the sidebar.
• Click a comment in the sidebar to scroll to its anchored text and highlight it.

Deep Linking

Each comment has a unique URL. To share a direct link to a comment, copy the URL from the context menu of the comment. When a person opens the link, the document scrolls to the related section and highlights the comment.

Availability

• Inline comments need the Commenter role or above.
• Inline comments are available on the Plus plan and above on Cloud.
• On self-hosted deployments, inline comments are not in the Community Edition. They need an Enterprise license.
