AI Writing Tools
Use the NocoDocs AI writing tools to draft, refine, and change text in the editor. Start each tool from the bubble menu, or from a slash command if the tool has one.
Continue Writing
AI continues writing from the current cursor position. It uses the content before the cursor (up to ~2,000 characters) as context.
How to use:
- Slash command: Type
/Continue Writingin the editor. - Bubble menu: Select text. Open the NocoAI menu, then select Continue Writing.
The new text shows inline in the document. Review it, then select Accept, Discard, or Try Again.
Improve Writing
Refine the selected text with one of four improvement modes.
How to use:
- Select the text to improve.
- In the bubble menu, open the NocoAI menu.
- Select one of these options:

| Improve Writing | Makes the text clearer and easier to read, with better flow |
| Fix Grammar | Corrects grammar, spelling, and punctuation |
| Make Shorter | Makes the text shorter and keeps the meaning |
| Make Longer | Makes the text longer with more detail |
The improved text shows in a popup. Review it, then select Accept, Discard, Try Again, or Insert Below. Insert Below keeps the original text and adds the AI version below it.
Change Tone
Rewrite the selected text in a different tone. The meaning stays the same.
How to use:
- Select the text to restyle.
- In the bubble menu, open the NocoAI menu.
- Hover over Change Tone. The submenu opens.
- Select a tone:

Summarize
Make a short summary of text content.
Two modes:

The summary shows in a popup. Select Accept, Discard, Try Again, or Insert Below.
Translate
Translate the selected text into one of 17 supported languages.
How to use:
- Select the text to translate.
- In the bubble menu, open the NocoAI menu.
- Hover over Translate. The language submenu opens.
- Select the target language.
Supported languages:

The translation replaces your selection inline. Review it, then select Accept, Discard, or Try Again.
Good to know
- AI Assistant needs a Business plan or above on Cloud, or an Enterprise license for self-hosted deployments.
- The project must have an AI integration.
